Got out of the house and went for a walk. Lots of raptors out today. Most impressive was the osprey, biggest I have seen on the west coast. Flew next to a bald eagle and it was twice the eagles size.

I went to four stores in the South Seattle area looking for a zipper to fix a jacket.

Not one place had anything acceptable. The closest was small pocket zippers. There used to be a time you could go to a store and touch things, even purchase them outright.

Even online ordering is not easy. I just want a YKK #5 style antique brass zipper with pull and locks, 3 foot length tape.

If you know of anyplace let me know, please. #sewing

Something I have an interest in is Cannabis compliance. Helping small shops and growers get through the hard stuff.

My girlfriend pointed out it’s an industry that you have to be involved with, know people, due to the nature of the business.

A local shop has a position, part time that would be perfect to get into due to the volume and traffic of sales (I track local shops via the state). I applied, maybe it works maybe it doesn’t.

Just found out my local #harleydavidson dealer is closing. That alone would suck normally but it also means my HOG chapter will have to change.

Here is the crazy part, it means more than likely the biggest city in the state will no longer have a Chapter. Eastside Harley already bought the Lynnwood shop and closed it now Jet City is moving to Tacoma, leaving the Seattle HOG chapter to hold while dealerships figure it out. I am a primary officer so who knows what I’m in for…

I could move to Eastside HOG as it would be a lot closer than Tacoma.

Just had a big old Hawk sitting on my back fence. He looked miserable.

Last night my lil birb started going nuts at 830pm or so and we couldn’t figure out why. Pretty sure the hawk was in our dogwood tree and he saw it.

Hopefully he was here for the rats but not something I want to see after having to take my birb back from a hawk a few weeks ago…

Dealing with domain registers today for a client. Domain management for the smallest of SMB clients is tough.

The client has to give me their login details so I could get in and find the settings to share domain management. Should have been easier to do but the difference between personal/consumer accounts and enterprise accounts is wonky.

Oh and it’s different for each provider.

Today marks 11 years since I called it quits on drinking. Best thing I ever did was quit.

March 17th, 2015, San Francisco. Sitting in the legendary Chieftain, I made a point of going out in style.

If you knew me before 2016, you would know I could drink, I was a hot mess. 300lbs, downing pints and booze like water. My life was a train wreck, starting divorce number 2.

Clear as daylight looking back I had to change or I was gonna end up dead. Within 6 years, several of my closest friends died, plenty of reasons to drink but outside of a shot of whiskey on a very cold night at a soccer match in Toronto, I have stayed true to myself.

So in honor of my lost friends, I am starting today off with Barroom Hero by Dropkick Murphy’s.

It’s not too late to get straight, ask for help, be true to you, sober sucks sometimes but living is way better.

My client asked me to help out with some none tech stuff since I am a bit slow so I have been doing some facilities work. Last week I went to harbor freight and grabbed something and looked at several items they could use. Mentioned it to the owners and they went down and looked around, asked me today to pick up stuff for them. Almost everything I thought they needed was on the list. Wish I would’ve done it last week 🤣

Just did my first AI interview for a job. I hated it but at least it made sense.

It asked 5 questions that required huge thoughtful answers. They were questions I would expect from a human.

The role was “Lead GRC Analyst” which was more like InfoSec program manager.

Wonder how I did.
