journaling through grief is messy and nonlinear and i think that's okay

My dad died seven months ago and I’ve been journaling through the grief. If you can call it that. Mostly I’m just screaming onto paper. The entries don’t follow any logical progression. I don’t move neatly through stages. One day I write about acceptance and the next day I’m furious at him for dying. One day I’m fine and the next I’m writing his name over and over through tears. Some entries are just memories. Things I don’t want to forget. The way he laughed. How he always burned toast but ate it anyway. The last thing he said to me on the phone. I don’t know if journaling is helping me grieve or just documenting the grief. But I do know that without it, I’d be trying to hold all of this in my head, and my head doesn’t have room. If you’ve journaled through losing someone, I’d just… like to not feel alone in this.

Do we musical adhd people have music bouncing around in our head all the time?

Pretty much most of my life I thought everyone had this (as well as vivid imagination) but now I dont think its as common. Like I can cue up any song in my head and it plays through, all the instruments relatively separated etc. A similar thing happens for writing music, I can write song after song and rarely feel like I “dont have any ideas”. Sometimes I wish that power could actually be utilized…

Some quotes as I am able now to read the article. “The co‑occurrence of autism and ADHD is far more common than many people realize. Estimates suggest that roughly 30–80% of Autistic people also meet criteria for ADHD, while about 20–50% of people diagnosed with ADHD also meet criteria for autism, meaning a substantial portion of both communities live in this shared space. Until the DSM‑5 was published in 2013, clinicians were not formally allowed to diagnose autism and ADHD together, despite this high co‑occurrence“ #AuDHD #ADHD #autism #ActuallyAutistic ⬇️

#ADHS #ADHD #ADD #ADS https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ydgmN9XfP6M

Names and remembering

Is it a common thing for ADHD or au/ADHD people to be weird with names? For example, I don’t like my name. I don’t really like when people say it either. I also rarely call other people by name unless I’m absolutely sure I know it, because getting it wrong is terrifying. I much prefer “man, bud, hey you”. People tell me its because I’m selfish and don’t care about others, because I can remember every year that certain albums were released from certain bands, but I can’t remember my neighbors name who talks to me maybe once every 3 months or the person I just met 5 minutes ago.
